Job summary

NOW Foods in Bloomingdale, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic I for the 2nd shift. The role maintains and repairs high-speed packaging equipment, trains others, and supports plant infrastructure in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualified candidates will have an AA/associates degree or equivalent with 2+ years of related experience, plus knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and fabrication disciplines. OSHA/cGMP compliance and safe work practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience: AA/Associates degree or equivalent plus two years of related experience or five years related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine troubleshooting, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, cGMPs, lock-out/tag-out is required.
• Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, lubricates, and troubleshoots complex packaging machinery and related equipment.
• Performs predictive and preventative maintenance per CMMS.
• Reads drawings/blueprints and assists with installation of new equipment.
• Maintains spare parts inventory and keeps shop areas clean and orderly.
• Participates in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
