Job summary

NOW Foods in Bloomingdale, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic I for a weekend schedule. You will repair and maintain packaging, processing, and plant equipment, and mentor lesser skilled mechanics.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, CMMS-based maintenance, collaboration with Engineering, safety and cGMP compliance, and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus a minimum of two years related experience OR a minimum five years related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine troubleshooting, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, cGMP’s, lock-out/tag-out is required.
• Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains machinery and electromechanical equipment in packaging, processing, distribution and plant infrastructure.
• Trains and mentors lesser skilled maintenance mechanics.
• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, lubricates, and troubleshoots complex processing and high-speed packaging machinery and other equipment.
• Performs predictive and preventative maintenance activities as outlined in the CMMS system.
• Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots all types of A/C and D/C electrical equipment.
• Fabricates components using standard shop equipment including lathe, mill, drill press, brake, shear, band saw, and various welding equipment.
• Operates production equipment as part of troubleshooting, and validation of completed maintenance activity.
• Assists Engineering in installation of new equipment. Works from drawings, verbal instructions and/or sketches.
• Works with technical support, the operations group, and peer mechanics to resolve problematic machine or personnel issues.
