Job summary

NOW Foods in Bloomingdale, IL is hiring a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic I for weekend shifts (Fri–Sun, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM). You will repair and maintain packaging/mechanical equipment, mentor junior mechanics, and support installation and commissioning of new lines in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent and experience with electrical/mechanical systems, machining and safe operation practices. Pharmaceutical/food industry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus a minimum of two years of related experience OR a minimum five years related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine troubleshooting, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, cGMP’s, lock-out/tag-out is required.
• Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains machinery and electromechanical equipment in packaging, processing, distribution and plant infrastructure.
• Trains and mentors lesser skilled maintenance mechanics.
• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, lubricates, and troubleshoots complex processing and high-speed packaging machinery and other equipment.
• Performs predictive and preventative maintenance activities as outlined in the CMMS system.
• Assists Engineering in installation of new equipment and works from drawings, verbal instructions and/or sketches.
