Job summary

Now Health Group, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic I to support weekend maintenance operations in our Bloomingdale, IL facility. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining packaging, processing, distribution, and plant infrastructure equipment and includes mentoring lesser skilled maintenance staff.

The position requires reading drawings, performing troubleshooting, and collaborating with engineering. Weekend shifts and safety/compliance with cGMP are integral to this role.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or equivalent plus two years related experience, or five years related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine troubleshooting, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, cGMP’s, lock-out/tag-out is required.
• Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, repair, lubricate, and troubleshoot complex processing and high-speed packaging machinery and other equipment in the facility.
• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance activities as outlined in the CMMS system.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all types of AC and DC electrical equipment.
• Fabricate components using standard shop equipment including lathe, mill, drill press, brake, shear, band saw, and various welding equipment.
• Operate production equipment as part of troubleshooting, and validation of completed maintenance activity.
• Assist Engineering in installation of new equipment. Works from drawings, verbal instructions and/or sketches.
• Work with technical support, the operations group, and peer mechanics to resolve problematic machine or personnel issues.
• Help maintain spare parts inventory for plant as directed by checking out parts form parts room, using parts ordering procedure, and restocking inventory.
• Help maintain shop areas and parts room so they are clean and orderly.
• Actively participates in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives. Recommends and implements continuous improvement ideas.
• Occasionally performs work in other areas such as building maintenance.
