Job summary

Sherman Associates is seeking a Maintenance Technician for West Side Flats in Saint Paul, MN. You will perform general maintenance, respond to resident requests, and prepare units for turnover with attention to detail. The role requires on-call rotations and the ability to handle a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

The position includes supervising tasks, coordinating with outside vendors, and maintaining safe, clean work areas in residential properties.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED plus a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; able to communicate with residents and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting and landscaping.
• Responds to open work orders and resolves resident requests within 24 hours.
• Prepares vacated apartments within 24 hours; ensures painting, cleaning, carpet cleaning and repairs are completed.
• Schedules and completes preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment.
• Diagnoses problems, replaces parts, tests and adjusts systems.
• Uses hand and power tools, meters and material handling equipment.
• Maintains grounds and common areas in good condition; ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Maintains budget awareness, tracks expenditures and coordinates with vendors for projects.
