Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician in San Jose to maintain buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas to meet company standards. The role involves painting, plumbing, electrical work, and diagnostics, with requirements including EPA certifications and a valid driver’s license.

The technician will handle routine and preventative maintenance, prepare units for occupancy, manage supplies, document work orders, and support cost-control efforts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in painting, plumbing, electrical systems, and troubleshooting repairs.
• Proficiency with property management platforms such as Yardi and HappyCo is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance per policy and safety standards.
• Executes make-ready processes for vacant units and inspects completed work.
• Manages materials, tracks inventory, and notifies supervisor for re-orders.
• Completes documentation for service requests and maintains records.
• Maintains grounds and amenities, performs cleaning and painting as needed.
• Supports cost-control by repairing rather than replacing parts when possible.
