Job summary

HRM Services is seeking a Full Time Maintenance Technician to preserve the condition and functionality of affordable housing properties. The role requires autonomy, reliability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Starting pay is $18 per hour with a Monday–Friday 8-hour schedule. Responsibilities include inspecting systems, performing maintenance and repairs, and assisting in setup of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other essential equipment.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience is preferred.
• Detail oriented.
• Basic technology (smartphone/computer).
• Organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.

Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
• Perform maintenance and installation of systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, change filter furnaces etc.), assist in setup of systems and conduct repairs when necessary, maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Ability to navigate smart phone, electronic work orders.
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed.
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows).
• Willing to perform a variety of maintenance tasks including painting, HVAC troubleshooting, janitorial, inspections, landscaping, snow removal, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 90lbs and stand for up to 8 hours.
