Job summary

Related Affordable Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our properties safe, functional, and inviting for residents. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance, ensuring timely service requests and quality outcomes across communities.

You’ll work with a dedicated team, participate in on-call rotations, and help prepare units for occupancy while upholding safety and quality standards. Prior housing maintenance experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Affordable housing experience is a plus.
• Must be able to participate in the emergency on-call rotation as needed.
• Dedicated to exceeding expectations by providing exceptional service.
• Willingness to embrace feedback and continuously improve.
• Strong belief in teamwork and collaboration.
• Reliable and committed to doing the right thing at all times.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Demonstrates accountability and reliability with attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames
• Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, addressing safety issues immediately with management.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds.
• Assist in emergency repairs as directed by supervisors and rotate on‑call for emergency maintenance.
• Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and report any shortages.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in partnership with the supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
