Job summary

Americhem is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production equipment and facility systems on the 1st shift. The role emphasizes preventive and emergency maintenance to support safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

The technician will use hand and power tools, read schematics, and follow technical manuals to diagnose issues, install and commission equipment, and document all maintenance activities. Strong safety discipline and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read technical documents and schematics.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication across departments.
• Lockout/Tagout safety experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, welding, fabrication, and facility systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on production, packaging, processing, and auxiliary equipment.
• Observe equipment operation and diagnose causes of failures using indicators.
• Read electrical schematics, procedures, service manuals, diagrams, sketches, and work orders.
• Install, test, adjust, and commission new production and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose equipment problems and determine corrective actions.
• Complete maintenance work orders accurately and timely.
• Document service, repairs, labor hours, parts used, and related information.
• Communicate equipment problems, production concerns, and project updates to management.
