Valmont Industries, Inc. in Newberry, South Carolina is seeking an Associate Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance team with installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and systems.

You will learn maintenance processes and help ensure equipment remains safe, functional, and ready for production. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and involves assisting with repairs, installations, and routine maintenance under

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and maintain maintenance records.
• Strong attention to detail and safety mindset.
• Effective communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance technicians with repairs, installations and preventive maintenance.
• Perform basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tasks under supervision.
• Help troubleshoot equipment issues and identify causes of failures.
• Support preventive maintenance programs with inspections and lubrication.
• Assist with facilities maintenance including lighting, plumbing, and trades.
• Operate tools safely and maintain a clean, organized shop.
• Move, assemble, and install machinery and production tooling.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain records.
• Support continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability.
