Job summary

Valmont in Newberry, South Carolina is seeking a Machine Operator 5 to join our manufacturing team. This full-time role operates machines per shop drawings, loads programs, and ensures produced parts meet quality and safety standards.

You will troubleshoot issues, maintain material traceability, support lean 5S practices, perform light maintenance, and coordinate with the Shift Lead and Production Supervisor to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Two to four years experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand blue prints/shop drawings.
• Strong hands-on knowledge operating machines.
• Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/32″.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Willingness to operate forklifts and overhead cranes (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Operate machines per shop drawings using designated equipment.
• Load machine programs and process materials according to orders.
• Troubleshoot operating errors and determine resolutions.
• Maintain material traceability and quality, meeting production goals.
• Support lean, 5S, and general housekeeping initiatives.
• Perform light maintenance and assist with setup where required.
