Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech II to join our UniFirst team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment in a Monday–Friday schedule with periodic overtime. On-the-job training is provided and immediate opening available.

You will troubleshoot equipment, assist with emergency repairs, and work with PLCs and control systems. The role requires reading blueprints, basic IT skills, and lift capability up to 80 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints and schematics is required.
• Must pass UniFirst maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Lockout/Tagout experience is required.
• Ability to read maintenance literature in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems through observation and testing.
• Assist maintenance staff with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Follow blueprints and manufacturer instructions.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjustments.
• Conduct daily and weekly boiler safety checks and repairs as needed.
• Inspect/maintain motors, belts, fluids, filters, and bearings.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Lubricate shafts and gears per procedures; ensure proper operation.
• Use CMMS for maintenance documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
