Job summary

TimberTech is seeking a Maintenance Tech I to join our manufacturing team in Scranton, PA. The role focuses on maintaining extrusion lines, motors, drives, and related systems to ensure continuous production.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, training in maintenance, and experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. On-site work with 24/7 manufacturing operations is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED; related certifications are a plus.
• Two-year Maintenance Certification course completed.
• Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production lines and equipment to ensure uptime.
• Develop and prioritize work orders with Maintenance Manager and supervisors.
• Complete work order requests as defined by leadership.
• Support TPM and 6S workplace programs.
• Coach and train operators in preventive maintenance checks.
• Assist in line commissioning after maintenance events.
• Contribute to plant projects as needed.
• Operate in a way that adds value to the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Ensures production lines and other equipment are maintained and able to run at all times
• Assists in developing and prioritizing work orders with Maintenance Manager, Production Supervision and Line Leads.
• Completes work order requests as defined by Maintenance Manager, Productions Management/Supervision, and/or Operators.
• Supports workplace organization programs (6S) and production efficiency programs (TPM).
• Assists, coaches, and trains operators in daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks
• Supports and assists preventative maintenance process on the shift
• Contributes and assists in line commissioning after maintenance/process events
• Assists and participates with other plant projects as needed
• Operates in a manner that provides value to the team
• Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management

Skills & Abilities

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Advanced education and/or related-certification(s), a plus

Experience: 0 plus years of experience in role of Maintenance Tech I

Computer Skills: Computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

Certifications & Licenses: Will meet qualification and certification requirements established by TimberTech"s Training

Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program

Completion of two year Maintenance Certification course

Stick and wire welding experience required with structural welding certification, a plus

Forklift experience required with the ability to complete TT Forklift Certification program

Other Requirements: Proven experience in working unassisted with and troubleshooting: Electrical, Electronic, Motor Controller Drives, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems; Strong background in manufacturing systems in dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment; Working knowledge of extrusion process, twin screw setup, blending system a plus; Knowledge of PLC Logic technology, a plus; Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings; Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally; Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities; Strong mathematical skills; Success in planning, executing and managing projects; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upward and downward to a wide range of audiences; Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment
