Job summary

Target is seeking an Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Technician 2 (MT2) to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated material handling equipment. You’ll ensure high equipment availability, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and quickly troubleshoot breakdowns to support the supply chain.

You’ll collaborate with technicians and engineers, handle safety procedures, and assist in training others while supporting a fast-paced distribution operation in Virginia.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possess or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
• PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices.
• Familiar with wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring.
• Experience in Work order management.
• Preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.
• Basic blueprint and schematic reading.
• Electrical and electronic principles.
• Basic metal fabrication and welding.
• Industrial Controls and Electronics.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic Input/Output functions.
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, sortation, robotics, or ASRS.
• Adjust scanners, cameras, field buses, scales and printer applicators.
• Repair or replace worn components (belts, chains, cables, bearings, wheels).
• Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment.
• Work with maintenance teams and outside contractors as needed.
• Develop Root Cause Analysis with Senior Engineers.
• Train junior technicians and trainees.
