Job summary

Target is seeking an Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 (MT1) for our Supply Chain Facility to maintain and repair automated material handling equipment and facility systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support rapid restoration of equipment to keep operations on schedule.

The role offers an entry-level path with potential promotion to Maintenance Technician 2, along with comprehensive health benefits, retirement plans, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license.
• Basic PC competency and ability to use handheld devices.
• Familiar with simple wiring diagrams and electrical measuring.
• Experience with work order management and maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Experience with common industrial tools.
• Basic carpentry and plumbing knowledge.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and schematics.
• Understanding of basic AC/DC electrical principles.
• Basic metal fabrication and welding.
• Knowledge of basic industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair automated material handling and facility equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment like HVAC and dryers.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and electronic equipment using standard tools.
• Read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Execute sanitation and maintenance standards where applicable.
• Create and close work orders using asset management apps.
• Develop relationships across the organization and follow safety procedures.
