Job summary

AvalonBay Communities in Campbell, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team. You will diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and assorted equipment, complete service requests promptly, and ensure apartments are ready for residents.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, assist with interior and exterior painting, and uphold a safe, on-time work culture across the community.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of maintenance experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation.
• Strong communication with residents and teammates.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance policies and SDS.
• Knowledge of PPE and safe chemical handling.
• Basic understanding of emergency systems and shutoffs.
• Knowledge of paint types and tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, safety systems.
• Completes assigned service requests and repairs promptly.
• Ensures vacant apartments are rent-ready in time; perform turnkey work.
• Conducts apartment Preventative Maintenance.
• Assists in painting interior and exterior surfaces.
• Maintains safety culture and reports unsafe conditions.
• Performs hot works including brazing, soldering, and welding per standards.
