Job summary

AvalonBay Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our San Dimas, CA team. You will diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues to keep our communities safe and comfortable for residents.

In this on-site role, you’ll respond to service requests, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate with team members to ensure timely, quality work while upholding AvalonBay’s safety standards and resident experience.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work.
• Valid drivers license.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Ability to read and follow policies and safety procedures.
• Good customer service and communication with residents.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, and related components.
• Completes assigned service requests in a timely manner and to company standards.
• Ensures vacant apartment homes are rent-ready in a timely manner; performs turnkey work as required.
• Performs preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Maintains safety culture by following AvalonBay policies and reporting unsafe conditions; uses PPE.
• Performs hot works including brazing, soldering, and welding per standards.
