Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components in a Monday–Friday week with overtime as needed.

You’ll perform safety checks, read blueprints, and use CMMS to log data, while training on the job and developing skills for career growth within a 1.5-billion-dollar organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; English maintenance literature.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment with precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and log results.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
• Perform location/system safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect and maintain motors, belts, fluids, and replace filters.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears; follow maintenance procedures.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
