Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst community. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

Monday - Friday with periodic night and weekend overtime; on-the-job training provided. The role requires use of hand and power tools, inspecting machinery, reading blueprints and manuals, and performing safety checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• 6 months of experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Read blueprints and schematics; English maintenance literature.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing with log records.
• Daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as needed.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
