Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components, with a standard Monday - Friday work week and periodic night and weekend overtime.

We provide on-the-job training and opportunities for growth within a large fabric services company. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years of age, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Able to read blueprints & schematics.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
• Lockout/Tagout experience.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Overtime availability as needed.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems via measurements and testing.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
• Carry out daily and weekly boiler safety checks and repairs.
• Record utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct location/system safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and components.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System for tasks.
