Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst community in Fayetteville, NC. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

We offer on-the-job training and opportunities for career growth. You will work a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional night and weekend overtime.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Two-year technical degree is preferred.
Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
Lockout/Tagout experience is required.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and specifications.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make repairs.
Record meter readings of utilities and take corrective actions.
Perform daily and weekly location/system safety checks and address concerns.
Inspect motors, belts, fluids, replace filters and perform maintenance actions.
Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and parts.
Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
