Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst community in Simpsonville, SC. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

The schedule is a standard Monday - Friday with periodic night and weekend overtime; on-the-job training is provided. You will perform boiler chemical and wastewater tests, safety checks, and use CMMS to log results.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics; read maintenance literature in English.
Lockout/Tagout experience; lift up to 80 lbs; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of machinery and systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments and testing devices.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjustments.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as needed.
Record and analyze meter readings; take corrective actions as required.
Conduct daily/weekly location/system safety checks and address concerns.
Inspect motors, belts, fluids; replace filters and maintain components.
Inspect, clean, and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
