Job summary

Target is seeking an entry-level Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 (MT1) to maintain and repair automated material handling and facility equipment across a supply chain site.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and collaborate with Senior Systems Engineers to analyze root causes. Opportunities exist to progress to Maintenance Technician 2 with demonstrated proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possess or ability to obtain a valid driver's license.
• Basic PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices.
• Familiar with simple wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring.
• Experience with work order management and preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.
• Basic carpentry and plumbing; basic blueprint reading; basic electrical/electronic principles.
• Experience with basic metal fabrication and welding; basic industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of MHE on site (conveyor systems, sortation, scales, printer applicators).
• Demonstrate proficiency in hydraulic/pneumatic systems and AC/DC motors/drives.
• Repair/replace belts, chains, cables and wearing components as needed.
• Maintain/troubleshoot motors, sensors, relays, encoders, etc.
• Clean, lubricate, calibrate equipment and follow maintenance plans.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment (PITs, HVAC, compressors, balers).
• Read electrical/electronic schematics and work with handheld asset systems to close work orders.
