Job summary

Target is seeking an Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 (MT1) in New York to maintain and repair automated material handling and facility equipment within a fast-paced supply chain environment.

As an entry-level role, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and work with a team to keep systems running smoothly. Promotion potential to Maintenance Technician 2 is available; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license for state employment.
• Basic PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices.
• Familiar with simple wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring.
• Experience in work order management, preventive/predictive maintenance procedures, and basic industrial tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and facility equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagnose faults.
• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic components using basic tools.
• Operate and document work orders via handheld devices and asset systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and ensure safety procedures and PPE use.
