Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will repair, maintain, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment, and ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

The role includes following blueprints and performing routine maintenance with on-the-job training. We offer a Monday–Friday week with periodic night and weekend overtime and opportunities for growth within a 1.5-billion-dollar company serving thousands of locations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required.
Lockout/Tagout experience is required.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of machinery and systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals and specs.
Troubleshoot equipment problems via observation and testing instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
Perform daily/weekly boiler safety checks and repairs as required.
Record utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
Conduct location/system safety checks and address concerns.
Inspect and maintain motors, belts, fluids, filters, bearings and gears.
Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
