Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst community. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems and components.

We offer an on-the-job training program, a Monday–Friday work week with occasional night and weekend overtime, and opportunities for skill growth within a global garment services company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and repairs as required.
• Inspect motors, belts, fluids, and lubricate or replace parts as needed.
• Operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
