Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes in Edmond, OK is seeking a Service Technician 1 to prepare vacant apartments and deliver timely maintenance. You will perform painting, drywall repairs, electrical, plumbing, HVAC tasks and carpentry, both in vacant and occupied units, ensuring high quality and safety standards.

The role requires reliability, the ability to work independently, strong customer service with residents and vendors, and willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years maintenance experience required.
• 1+ years painting and drywall repairs preferred.
• Solid mechanical aptitude required.
• Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms, climb ladders and stairs.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
• EPA certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy including painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Perform basic system repairs on electrical, plumbing, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, and appliances.
• Perform carpentry and painting; interior/exterior finishing.
• Identify when full-paint or touch-up paint is needed and select appropriate sheen/color.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks and respond to service requests promptly.
• Maintain pools: monitor chemical balance and logs as required by city ordinances.
• Conduct daily grounds maintenance and assist with property improvements as scheduled.
• Utilize Weidner-issued cell phone and apps; travel between properties as required.
• Participate in on-call rotation and adhere to safety and company policies.
