Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes is seeking a Service Technician I to prepare vacant apartments for occupancy and provide timely maintenance across communities. Responsibilities include painting, drywall repair, electrical/plumbing work, and basic HVAC and appliance servicing.

The role requires lifting up to 80 pounds, climbing stairs, and handling on-call shifts while delivering professional customer service to residents and vendors.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of maintenance experience.
• 1+ years of painting and drywall repairs preferred.
• Solid mechanical aptitude.
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds and climb ladders.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy including painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Perform basic system repairs on electrical, plumbing, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, etc.
• Perform detailed carpentry, drywall repairs and interior/exterior painting.
• Identify when full-paint or touch-up paint is needed and select appropriate sheen/color.
• Perform repairs on plank, vinyl and carpet flooring.
• Handle daily maintenance requests from residents in a timely manner.
• Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Clean pools, monitor chemical balance, and maintain required logs.
• Daily grounds maintenance, trash removal, and pet waste management where applicable.
• Participate in property improvements and preventive maintenance tasks; work in and between properties.
• Utilize company cell phone and apps; travel between properties as needed.
• Be part of the on-call rotation as scheduled.
