The City of Conroe is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform labor-intensive tasks related to water and sewer system construction and maintenance. You may be required to work on-call and respond at any hour during emergencies when requested.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class C Driver's License, and within six months a Texas Class B CDL. Within one year you must obtain Class I sewer collection and Class D water licenses.
The Maintenance Technician I performs ordinary, labor-intensive tasks commonly related to water and sewer system construction and maintenance. Also assists operator in any way necessary to complete the job. Must be able to work on-call duty. Must be available to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.

The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
