SSC Services for Education, a member of Compass Group, is hiring maintenance technicians for the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington, KY. Roles include skilled trades, electrical and mechanical systems, and leadership on project teams.

Both full-time and part-time schedules are available, with flexibility and room for growth. Candidates should have formal trade training and several years of experience in institutional maintenance, with licensure where required.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Responsibilities

• Assists in repairs; reports major problems to supervisor.
• Constructs, installs, maintains electrical and mechanical systems.
• Cleans, services, and diagnoses malfunction of building systems and related equipment.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads and transmits complex instructions; trains others.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and creates punch lists.
• Maintains logs, completes work orders and inspections.
• Makes recommendations to improve preventive maintenance.
• Serves on facility emergency response team.

Education

Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling

Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting
