Job summary

SSC Services for Education, a Compass Group company, is hiring janitors for the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. Both full-time and part-time positions are available with days and hours varying.

Prior custodial experience is preferred, with a fixed pay rate of $15.30 per hour. Full and part-time schedules include opportunities for training, benefits, and advancement within a nationwide facility service provider.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keeps buildings clean and orderly.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and places furniture back in correct placement.
• Cleans assigned areas with assigned materials and equipment; sanitizes surfaces; follows the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Seeks areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete tasks.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team; maintains professionalism with customers and colleagues.
