Job summary

Sun Communities seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities. You will repair homes, maintain grounds, streets, and facilities while delivering excellent resident service.

The role covers snow removal, landscaping, water testing, and basic system repairs. Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and teamwork are required. On-call shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months maintenance experience in apartments/manufactured housing preferred.
• 6 months snow removal experience preferred.
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge and repair experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic computer proficiency (email/internet).
• Able to work on-call schedule.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trash/debris is picked up daily in common areas and streets.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Inspect irrigation systems and repair as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites and remove trash and debris.
• Remove snow from community areas as applicable.
• Maintain manicured lawns and perform landscaping duties.
• Ensure streets and routes are hazard-free.
• Test water systems and meters as applicable.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Complete checklists before/after resident occupancy.
• Keep community presentable and within curb appeal standards.
• Clean buildings such as clubhouse, offices, restrooms, laundry areas, and maintenance garage.
• Assist supervisor with service contractors.
• Inspect playgrounds, pools, and recreational areas for safety and minor repairs.
• Assist with move-in/move-out spotting of homes.
• Maintain community pools and test chemical levels.
• Maintain community vehicles and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and operate vehicles when moving sites.
