Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a full-time Maintenance person for its Valley View Community to handle groundskeeping, repairs, and resident support. The role demands safety‑conscious work, equipment operation, and on-site problem solving in diverse weather and terrain.

Responsibilities include inspections, repairs, snow removal, and coordinating with residents while adhering to company safety programs and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Broad range of experience in home repairs, plumbing and grounds maintenance.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and snow plow work.
• Ability to prioritize safety and participate in periodic safety trainings.
• Strong time management and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect common areas.
• Record violations observed during daily inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds: mowing, weed eating, leaves, snow plowing.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; ensure vehicles and equipment are serviced.
• Take daily readings from water plant and inspect pump stations when required.
• Keep a log of all work performed in the community.
• Follow Hazard Communication Program and operate tools safely.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers and residents.
• May assist with new home installations and other duties as assigned.
