Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking Maintenance Technicians to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities in Michigan. Responsibilities include repairs, grounds upkeep, irrigation checks, and ensuring curb appeal while delivering excellent resident service.

The role requires outdoor work in varying weather, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a valid driver's license. Experience with hand tools and equipment is essential for safe operation and reporting of issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months maintenance experience preferred.
• Snow removal experience preferred if applicable.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must endure outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment, and machinery.
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and preventative maintenance on homes and facilities.
• Keep common areas, grounds, and streets clean and safe.
• Inspect irrigation, water systems, and meters; perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites and remove trash and debris.
• Snow removal from streets and entrances; plowing or salting as applicable.
• Ensure lawns are manicured and plants tended; mulch and trim as needed.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Inspect playgrounds, pools, and recreation areas; perform minor repairs.
• Assist with move-in/move-out spotting of homes.
• Maintain community vehicles and equipment; follow safety procedures.
