Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors in Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee grounds, facilities, and utility systems at a community property. You will supervise the maintenance team and coordinate work orders to ensure reliable, safe operations.

You will conduct inspections, manage contractors, maintain logs, and respond to resident needs after hours. A valid driver's license and hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance are required; excellent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years in general maintenance techniques, repair work, and grounds.
• 6 months supervisory experience (preferred).
• 6 months knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, pool, and grounds maintenance.
• Proficient with hand tools and power equipment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Office, email, internet).
• Ability to respond to community needs during non-business hours.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Follows up on work assignments to ensure thorough completion of work orders.
• Monitors on-site contractors and assists with selection of contracted services.
• Performs regular inspections of resident sites.
• Coordinates team member selection and daily work prioritization.
• Maintains maintenance logs and inventories; assists with capital projects.
• Ensures safe storage of hazardous chemicals and equipment.
• Reports status to Community Manager and coordinates emergency maintenance.
