Job Title: Maintenance Technician

We are hiring immediately for full-time Maintenance Technician positions at SSC.

Location: USF MN Housing - 4202 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL 33620 (Openings at other locations within the school district available). Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Requires rotating after-hours on-call duties; more details provided upon interview.

Requirement: Maintenance experience in a large residential setting.

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of maintenance duties including:

• Maintaining, repairing, cleaning, and operating plant, shops, mechanical areas, exterior grounds, and campus facilities.
• Performing basic maintenance and repairs; contacting supervisors or skilled trade vendors as needed.
• Updating work statuses, timing, and costs using company tech systems.
• Providing fleet maintenance support such as welding, plumbing, electrical work, vehicle troubleshooting, generator repairs, and general maintenance.
• Assisting in minor and routine repairs; reporting major problems.
• Cleaning sidewalks, parking areas, and disposing of trash and debris.
• Operating electrical and gasoline-powered equipment.
• Maintaining and repairing equipment with hand and power tools.
• Performing unskilled or semi-skilled tasks like carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, and drywall maintenance.
• Responding to emergency problems and performing emergency repairs.
• Maintaining logs, performing rounds, and completing work orders, tests, and inspections.
• Reading and transmitting detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
• Serving on the facility's emergency response team.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year of related maintenance or grounds maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to high heat, noise, dust, dirt, and areas requiring infection control.
• Meeting deadlines; working hours including weekends and nights as necessary.
