Job Details

• We are hiring immediately for full-time MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN positions.
• Location: USF MN OAS - 4202 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL 33620. (Openings at other locations within the school district available) Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, hours may vary; more details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous maintenance technician experience required.
• Pay Range: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour

Job Summary

Performs a variety of maintenance duties including repairs, cleaning, and operation of plant and campus facilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and operate plant, mechanical areas, exterior grounds, and campus facilities.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs; coordinate with supervisors and vendors.
• Update work statuses, costs, and schedules using company tech systems.
• Support fleet maintenance, including welding, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
• Assist in decision-making for routine repairs and report major issues.
• Clean sidewalks, parking areas, and dispose of trash and debris.
• Operate electrical and gasoline-powered equipment.
• Maintain and repair equipment using hand and power tools.
• Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and drywall maintenance.
• Respond to emergency repairs and perform emergency response duties.
• Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete work orders and inspections.
• Read and transmit detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
• Serve as a member of the emergency response team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least one year of related maintenance or groundskeeping experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, and areas requiring infection control.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work flexible hours, including weekends and nights as needed.
