Job Title: Maintenance Service Technician

Salary: $22-$32/hour

Are you knowledgeable in construction methods and most comfortable with a tool in your hands? If so, keep reading:

We are looking for a Maintenance Service Technician who will perform a variety of basic handyman tasks, using existing knowledge of how to measure, cut, drill, nail, and assemble materials to the job specifications. Responsibilities include installing retail fixtures, railings, doors and hardware, cabinetry, and decor packages. The candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting and diagnosing issues to help formulate long-term solutions.

To be successful in this role:

• YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE for quality craftsmanship. You are an experienced carpenter with proven quality work. You focus on finding solutions and results when problems arise. You can work independently with high follow-through and delegate when necessary to ensure tasks are completed.
• YOU HAVE EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION AND TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS to manage deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment while respecting client spaces.
• YOU ARE DETAIL-ORIENTED with the ability to read specifications, measure accurately, and assemble materials successfully. You ensure proper installation and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Essential Duties:

Within the first 30 days and ongoing:

• Complete onboarding, including safety, equipment, CPR, OSHA training.
• Demonstrate basic carpentry skills with refined experience.
• Perform handyman tasks, measuring, cutting, drilling, nailing, assembling.
• Install retail fixtures, railings, doors, hardware, cabinetry, and decor using finish carpentry skills.

By the 90-day mark and ongoing:

• Complete service calls safely and effectively.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues for long-term solutions.
• Manage time to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Maintain safety protocols and accident-free work environment.

Within 6 to 12 months and ongoing:

• Communicate regularly with clients and team members.
• Show integrity, compassion, and empathy in client interactions.
• Take pride in craftsmanship and motivate coworkers and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years maintenance or similar experience (required)
• 3+ years commercial construction experience (required)
• 3+ years retail carpentry experience (required)
• Plumbing experience is a plus
• Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of construction methods
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, bend, stand, climb, and use hand tools
• Experience in layout, planning, and executing interior/exterior carpentry is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid CA Driver's License, good driving record, dependable transportation, and clean background check
• Commitment to safety standards
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight up to 1 week as needed
