Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, engine and HVAC components. You will also conduct preventive maintenance and light tire work as needed.

Under supervision, you will tackle new challenges daily, receive training on new technologies, and contribute to safe, reliable service for our drivers.

Qualifications

• Able to diagnose multi-system issues and perform preventative/repair maintenance.
• Understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 trucks, aircraft, or ships.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems; perform on-site and road maintenance.
• Repair chassis components and refuse bodies with hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Light engine repair; suspension, drivetrain and steering work; heating and cooling.

Skills

Diagnose multi-system issues

Work order time standards

Experience with heavy-duty trucks

ASE certifications

CDL is a plus

3-5 years technician exp

Valid Driver’s License

Education

Automotive college or technical school
