Job summary

The Seattle Housing Authority is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep properties in excellent condition. You will handle service requests in occupied and vacant units, carry out general repairs, and support curb appeal and resident relations while ensuring compliance with housing standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and relevant maintenance experience, with a focus on serving diverse residents in Seattle.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Driver’s License and fully insurable driving record.
• 12+ months as Vacate Technician or equivalent; 3 years in general apartment maintenance.
• Ability to work with diverse populations, seniors, and persons with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Repair and basic service requests in occupied and vacant units; light carpentry and appliance repair.
• Perform cleaning, maintenance, and grounds keeping tasks.
• Monitor wear and tear in units and document needs.
• Assist with unit and common-area inspections and coordinate repairs for HQS compliance.
• Communicate lease enforcement concerns to management and residents.
• Coordinate move-ins and move-outs with management.
