Aerotek in West Allis, WI is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for 2nd and 3rd shifts to ensure smooth operation of production lines, packaging equipment, and utility systems in a fast-growing food manufacturing environment.

You will perform preventive and emergency maintenance, read electrical schematics, troubleshoot PLC I/O, and maintain safety compliance with HACCP and GMP. This contract-to-hire role offers competitive hourly pay and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical knowledge to repair and troubleshoot equipment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols (LOTO, GMP) and food safety standards.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utilities.
• Respond to emergency repairs and breakdowns promptly.
• Interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, and work orders.
• Close work orders with high quality and communicate issues affecting production.
• Report unsafe conditions and ensure HACCP and GMP compliance.
• Pull wires, terminate circuits, and troubleshoot PLC I/O (not programming).

Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 2nd & 3rd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment at a rapidly growing food manufacturing company.

Hours:

• 2nd Shift: 2:00pm - 12:00am, Wednesday - Saturday

• 3rd Shift: 10:00pm - 8:00am, Wednesday - Saturday

Pay: $28 - $38/hr

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems.

• Be readily available for emergency repairs and breakdown situations.

• Analyze and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.

• Complete work orders promptly while maintaining high quality standards.

• Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees to inform them of any issues affecting production efficiency.

• Report unsafe conditions and food safety violations.

• Comply with HACCP and GMP protocols for production.

• Pull wire, terminate circuits, troubleshoot PLCs (I/O, not programs), and limit switches.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical Skills – Repair machines, conveyors, pumps, motors, and other equipment (with supervision and guidance)

• Electrical Skills – Understand basic wiring, sensors, switches, and electrical troubleshooting

• Safety & Food Production – Follow LOTO, PPE, GMPs, sanitation, and other plant safety requirements

Work Environment

Work in a GMP environment where candidates will wear hair nets or beard nets throughout the facility. Experience diverse temperature conditions with refrigerated packaging lines and shipping storage areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Allis, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
