Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for a large distribution center in Prairie Du Chien, WI, on 3rd shift (Sunday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.). The role will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on conveyors, sorters, motors, and related systems, with preventive maintenance and PLC troubleshooting as core duties.

You will read schematics, use a multimeter, and document all activities in CMMS while adhering to safety guidelines in a non climate-controlled

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Experience preventive maintenance on conveyors, sorters, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pulleys, rollers.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Electrical troubleshooting with motors and controls.
• PLC troubleshooting using PLC programs and I/O lights.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Proficient with a multimeter for voltage, continuity, resistance at 220V/480V.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics troubleshooting.
• Comfort with a 3rd shift schedule (Sun-Thu, 5:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in non-climate-controlled environments.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician II 3rd Shift

Job Description

This role focuses on performing both mechanical and electrical maintenance on material handling equipment in a large distribution center during 3rd shift. You will diagnose and repair issues on conveyors, sorters, motors, and related systems, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot PLC controls to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on conveyors, sorters, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pulleys, rollers, and other material handling equipment.

• Carry out a balanced mix of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, with approximately 50% of the work in each discipline.

• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, identify failed parts, and complete mechanical and electrical repairs to restore equipment to service.

• Use a multimeter to check voltage, continuity, resistance, wiring, relays, contactors, and other electrical components, primarily at 220V and occasionally at 480V.

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics to diagnose issues and guide repairs.

• Perform basic PLC troubleshooting using PLC programs and I/O lights to identify control-related faults.

• Conduct electrical troubleshooting on PLC controls and related systems to support safe and reliable operation.

• Document all maintenance activities accurately and promptly in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance and repairs.

• Work different days and shifts as needed to support operational requirements, with a primary schedule on 3rd shift.

• Regularly walk, sit, stand, perform computer work, and safely lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.

• Operate effectively in a large, non-climate-controlled distribution environment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or similar environment.

• Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on conveyors, sorters, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pulleys, rollers, and other material handling equipment.

• Strong mechanical skills, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical components and systems.

• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including working with motors, controls, and related equipment.

• Experience troubleshooting PLC controls and performing basic PLC diagnostics using PLC programs and I/O lights.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

• Skilled in using a multimeter to check voltage, continuity, resistance, and to test wiring, relays, and contactors at 220V and 480V.

• Knowledge of pneumatics and the ability to troubleshoot pneumatic systems.

• Knowledge of hydraulics and the ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.

• Comfort working a 3rd shift schedule (Sunday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.).

• Ability to work safely in a non-climate-controlled environment and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.15 - $36.15/hr.
