Job summary

Target Corp in DeKalb, IL is hiring an Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Technician 2 to install, maintain, and repair automated material handling equipment at the upstream distribution center. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and work with technicians to meet uptime goals.

Responsibilities include maintaining conveyors and robotics, using handheld apps for work orders, and ensuring safe operations per LOTO and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license for state employment.
• PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices.
• Familiar with wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring.
• Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
• Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of MHE on site (conveyors, sortation, robotics, ASRS).
• Adjust scanners, cameras, field buses, scales, and printer applicators.
• Repair/replace belts, chains, cables, and other components; clean, lubricate, calibrate equipment.
• Operate Target-owned vehicles for maintenance tasks and parts procurement.
• Create and close Work Orders with labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used.
