Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties in Hamilton, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing and electrical issues, and promptly address resident maintenance requests. You will conduct inspections, collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor, and ensure safety standards are met.

The position requires a high school diploma and hands-on maintenance experience; HVAC/EPA credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in HVAC, plumbing or electrical work.
• HVAC/EPA credentials are a plus and willingness to learn.
• Team player with good communication and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on property systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety risks.
• Collaborate with supervisors to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when required.

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in excellent working condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
• Perform snow and ice removal.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies. Weekend work is required as needed.
• Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.
