Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties is hiring a Maintenance Technician for The Ascent in Cleveland Heights, OH. You’ll perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, and promptly address resident repair requests.

You’ll work with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize work orders and ensure safety standards are met. We value a high school diploma, hands-on maintenance experience, and team-focused communication.

Qualifications

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• HVAC/EPA certifications or similar credentials are a plus, along with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• You’re a team player who communicates effectively and works well with others.
• You’re detail-oriented and committed to diversity and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in excellent working condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
• Perform snow and ice removal.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies. Weekend work is required as needed.
• Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Technician
