Job summary

Metropolitan Holdings is seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician for our Columbus portfolio. You will perform corrective and preventive maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, masonry, and related tasks to keep our luxury community in top condition.

On-site role with typical hours 7am–6pm, with on-call responsibilities including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Competitive benefits and a supportive team culture guide your daily work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related experience in property maintenance.
  • Type II EPA certification is preferred.
  • CPO certification is preferred.
  • Experience with painting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, emergency/security systems, and pool maintenance.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to operate hand tools.
  • Knowledge of First Aid and Safety procedures.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance work and service requests across carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, masonry, and other general maintenance.
  • Provide on-call maintenance for evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled; update status of work orders.
  • Execute Make-Ready/Turn process; complete move-out checklist and forward to management for approval.
  • Schedule and inspect vendor/contractor work to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Inspect rent-ready apartments to ensure readiness for move-in.
  • Inspect the building site and report needed repairs; provide inspection reports to Property or Service Manager.
  • Perform other duties including janitorial, grounds, and special projects as assigned.

We’re looking for a motivated, personable, goal-driven Maintenance Technician to join our team at our local portfolio in Columbus. You will perform various corrective and preventive maintenance duties as well as special projects necessary to maintain and enhance the community. What You’ll Do
  • Complete maintenance work and maintenance service requests, to include, but not limited to, specific carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, masonry and other general maintenance
  • Provide on-call maintenance for evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled. Updates the status of all work orders.
  • Execute the Make-Ready/Turn process. Complete move-out checklist assigning appropriate move-out charges, and forwards to management for approval and account reconciliation.
  • Schedule and inspect vendor/contractor work performed to ensure quality, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Inspect all rent ready apartments to ensure all maintenance items are completed and the apartment is ready for move-in.
  • Inspect the physical building site/apartment site including all roofs, garages, carports, driveways, streets, stucco, siding, pools, building, recreational facilities, and grounds, identifying all areas in need of immediate or future repairs and maintenance and provides an inspection report to the Property or Service Manager for review.
  • Perform other duties including but not limited to janitorial, grounds and special projects as assigned. Actual job duties/responsibilities may vary depending on community size and community needs.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone with:

  • 1-3 years of related experience in property maintenance

When You’ll Work
  • You will work on-site at a brand-new apartment community.
  • Hours are usually scheduled within 7am - 6pm and you may be scheduled to work weekend days (Sat/Sun).
  • Must be available to work over-time as needed and work an on-call schedule. Must be flexible and readily available depending on the needs of the property.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and operate power tools
  • Must be able to occasionally drive during the course of work
