Job summary

Nesco Resource is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Technician for the Columbus area. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing automated production equipment, diagnosing issues quickly to minimize downtime, and supporting safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial maintenance, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and CNC controls.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and CNC controls
  • Experience in a continuous automated manufacturing environment preferred
  • Forklift/Scissor Lift/Aerial Work Platform certification is a plus
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and email

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance
  • Diagnose equipment failures and minimize production downtime
  • Repair and maintain automated manufacturing equipment
  • Service and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and CNC controls
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Inspect and maintain electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, and transfer switches
  • Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete facility maintenance including HVAC, lighting, doors, and building systems
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation
  • Follow safety procedures and keep a clean, organized work area
  • Assist with inventory management and maintenance parts organization

Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Now Hiring: Experienced Maintenance Technician

Nesco Resource is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the Columbus area that is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team! If you have a strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background and enjoy troubleshooting automated production equipment, this is a great opportunity to join a stable company with long-term career potential.

Shift

Regular Schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday: 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM

  • Friday & Saturday: 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM

Training Schedule:

  • Training will take place on 1st Shift for approximately 2-4 weeks before transitioning to the regular schedule.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance

  • Diagnose equipment failures and minimize production downtime

  • Repair and maintain automated manufacturing equipment

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems

  • Experience working with:

    • PLC Systems

    • HMI Interfaces

    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

    • CNC Controls

  • Experience in a continuous automated manufacturing environment preferred

  • Forklift, Scissor Lift, or Aerial Work Platform certification is a plus

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and email

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a hands-on approach

Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds as needed

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in an industrial manufacturing environment

  • Ability to safely perform maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
