Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician at Emerald Pointe, South Bend, IN. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems to keep units and common areas in top condition.

Join a team focused on community value and safety, where you will address resident requests, participate in on-call rotations, and support turnover activities while maintaining an organized inventory of tools and materials.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform preventative maintenance.
• Ability to handle resident maintenance requests professionally and promptly.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on property systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections and proactively address maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize work orders and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; assist with turnovers.
• Participate in on-call rotation; respond to after-hours emergencies; weekend work as needed.

Maintenance Technician

What You'll Do:

Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in excellent working condition.

Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.

Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.

Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.

Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.

Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.

Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.

Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.

Performsnow and ice removal.

Participatein an on-call rotation to respond to after-hoursmaintenance emergencies. Weekend work isrequiredas needed.

Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

HVAC/EPA certifications or similar credentials are a plus, alongwith a willingness to learn and grow.

You have hands-on experience in maintenance, with skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
