Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties in Petersburg, Indiana, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our properties in top condition. You’ll perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems, and address resident requests promptly.

You’ll join a team that values a winning mindset, safety, and quality workmanship. A high school diploma is required; HVAC/EPA certifications are a plus, with after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
• HVAC/EPA certifications are a plus and willingness to learn.
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on property systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with supervisors to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain organized inventory of tools and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers and after-hours emergency maintenance.

Maintenance Technician

What You'll Do:

Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in excellent working condition.

Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.

Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.

Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.

Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.

Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.

Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.

Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.

Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.

Performsnow and ice removal.

Participatein an on-call rotation to respond to after-hoursmaintenance emergencies. Weekend work isrequiredas needed.

Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.

HVAC/EPA certifications or similar credentials are a plus, alongwith a willingness to learn and grow.
