Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support The August at Steelpointe Harbor in Bridgeport, CT. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and related equipment, ensuring everything operates safely and efficiently.

You’ll address resident requests, conduct inspections, and collaborate with supervisors to prioritize work orders. Weekend and on-call shifts are required, with after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• HVAC/EPA certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance across property systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections and address maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with supervision to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with apartment turnovers and on-call after-hours emergencies.

Maintenance Technician

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in excellent working condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
• Performsnow and ice removal.
• Participatein an on-call rotation to respond to after-hoursmaintenance emergencies. Weekend work isrequiredas needed.
• Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.
